About Apex Lap

Apex Lap is a single-lap time attack. There is no pack to fight and no luck: just you, the track and the clock. Cross the line, chase the perfect lap, and the moment you set a personal best your lap becomes the ghost car you have to beat next time.

Three circuits each ask for something different. Harbor Point has long straights and two heavy-braking hairpins, Red Canyon is a fast run of flowing esses where rhythm is everything, and Neon Bay is a street circuit of 90-degree corners between walls and city lights. Every circuit has sector times, a theoretical best built from your fastest sectors, and gold, silver and bronze medal targets.

Race by day, at dusk or under the lights at night, dry or in the rain. In the wet the grip drops, the braking points move, spray hangs behind the car and lightning flashes over the city. The racing line changes colour to show you where to stay flat out, where to lift and where to brake hard.

Switch from the classic top-down view to a 3D cockpit with the halo, live mirrors and your gloved hands on a working steering wheel, or to a chase camera behind the car. Every lap can be replayed with TV-style trackside, low-angle and helicopter shots, and you can save a result card to share your time.

How to play

1. Pick a circuit, time of day, weather and view, then press Start.
2. Hold ↑ for throttle and ↓ to brake, and steer with ← →. Follow the racing line: brake where it turns red.
3. Keep all four wheels inside the kerbs, or the lap is deleted for track limits.
4. Press Space for DRS on the straights when it lights up.
5. Set a personal best and race its ghost. Pause to watch the replay or save a result card.
